The Ozar-Hasegawa Dental Ethics Award
presented by The American Society for Dental Ethics
The Ozar-Hasegawa Ethics Award is an annual award named for two individuals who have contributed to the scholarship, discussion, and application of dental ethics, Professor David Ozar (Loyola University) and Dr. Thomas Hasegawa Jr. (Baylor, deceased). The award is presented by the American Society for Dental Ethics (ASDE) to a dental or dental hygiene student for an essay or comparable product of careful ethical reflection. |

Biography:

A native of Eastern Washington state, he earned a B.S. in Biophysics at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT in 2004 and a D.D.S. at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio Dental school in San Antonio, TX in 2009. This fall he will be joining the GPR program at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD as part of a four-year, direct accession commitment to the Navy Dental Corps. After that, he plans to take on a combined periodontics/Ph.D. program in an effort to establish himself as a career researcher/educator within dental academics.

ASDE Leadership Awards
ASDE is the 2008 recipient of the Ethics and Professionalism Award. The Ethics and Professionalism Award is the College's newest national award. Consistent with the mission of the ACD, the Ethics and Professionalism Award recognizes exceptional contributions by individuals or organizations in the promotion of ethics or professionalism in dentistry.
