Q: How do I join ASDE?

Q: What are the benefits of joining ASDE?

Your membership has multiple benefits such as:

  • Connecting with people who share the same dental ethics interests
  • Dental Ethics newsletter
  • Paper copy of ACD Journal
  • Discounted fee in ASDE Workshops

Q: Do I become a fellow of the American College of Dentists by joining ASDE?

No. Even though ASDE is a section of the American College, members who are not already ACD Fellows will not be granted fellowship by joining ASDE. You will be an affiliate member.

Q: I teach dental ethics at my university. Where can I get and how can I apply dental ethics learning material?

There are multiple teaching techniques for dental ethics. We encourage you to attend our continuing education workshops, which are designed for the development of dental ethics faculty. Workshops are provided twice a year; one in the spring during the ADEA spring meeting, and the second one during late summer, in different locations in the US.

Q: I want a consultation regarding a dental ethics case, can ASDE help me? Does ASDE provide advice regarding ethical issues in dentistry?

On a case by case basis. Please contact the ASDE Executive Director with your question.

Q: I want to submit an essay for the Ozar-Hasegawa dental ethics award. How and when can I do that?

The announcement for submission will be posted in January for submission in February. Winners will be announced in April. Please consult our Awards section for further details.

Q: How do I submit an article for publication in your journal, Issues in Dental Ethics?

Please forward your submission to our Executive Director ED@societyfordentalethics.org.
